Joshua 1

The Book of Joshua details the faithfulness of God despite of Israel's unfaithfulness. It covers with the men and women of great faith. From the first chapter of the book, we see that God commanded Joshua to not let the Book of the Law depart from his mouth; to meditate on it day and night, so that he may be careful to do everything written in it. Then he will be prosperous and successful (v.8). Christian of today must also meditate the Word of God day and night. For man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4).

Rahab the prostitute was also told in the book. We learned from her the action she took that shows by faith she welcomed the spies and were saved. In her act of faith we understood that only by faith we will be saved, by putting our faith in Jesus Christ alone. As we put our faith in Him, by effect we will do the right thing that pleases Him. Having the genuine faith produces good works, worship and glorifies God.
